LGBTQIA+ THERAPY

An inclusive, affirming, and safe virtual therapy space for anyone in California.

LGBTQ Therapy, Queer Therapy, LGBTQ Affirming Therapy, LGBT Therapist Online

You’re here, you’re queer…I’m with you.

Maybe you’ve tried therapy in the past, but you just didn’t feel like your therapist understood you, your identity, or your relationships. You might even dread starting therapy again because of this. You’re wanting someone who is affirming of who you are, and who you don’t always have to be in a “teacher role” with.

Maybe you want to explore your identity and talk about navigating the world as someone who is queer, and you want to talk about it with someone who gets it. You could be navigating a polyamorous or ethically non-monogamous relationship, and you’re just needing some support from someone who understands. Or maybe you’re a part of the kink community and you want someone to listen to you without judgement.

Perhaps you want a therapist to follow your lead on what you want to focus on most in therapy without your therapist assuming you’re in therapy because you’re queer, poly, and/or kinky. Maybe you just need a safe place to get help with feeling anxious, worried, depressed, or to explore a traumatic experience. You’re looking for a change, and for something to feel and be different.

You’re in the right place.

Common questions about LGBTQ affirmative therapy.

  • LGBTQ affirming therapy isn’t just “LGBTQ friendly”, it is much more than that. It is affirming of your identities and validating of your experiences. Being an LGBTQ affirming therapist means I embrace your identities and I am an advocate for LGBTQIA+ communities. It means I will hold space for all of the layers of your identities and your social experiences. It means that I don’t believe that gender or sexuality is something to be pathologized. I also take a stand against homophobia, transphobia, and any other harmful practices and systems against LGBTQIA+ communities. I also don’t assume you are coming to therapy due to issues related to your sexuality or gender identity. I will follow your lead about what brings you to therapy, and always start where you are at.

  • I primarily work with queer, BIPOC, and neurodivergent communities, as well as those who are an ally. I only see clients who are 18 or older. I have clients who are ethically non-monogamous, kinky, sex workers, and others who are stigmatized by society. Aside from identities, a lot of my clients come to me who are navigating their queer or non-traditional relationships, identities, gender transitions, big life changes, financial stress or financial anxiety, psychedelic use, work stress or career changes, and various other experiences. I help many with symptom management for anxiety, depression and trauma. It’s a wide spectrum of reasons my clients come to me for therapy, but my values remain the same across the board.

  • Your first session will be a virtual 55-minute clinical intake session where we will get to know each other and I will learn more about your history and what brings you to therapy. Sessions after that will be virtual 45-minute appointments, unless you are also engaging in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) with me where dosing sessions will be 2.5 hours long (either in-person or online). Feel free to schedule a consultation call with me and ask me any questions you might have about what therapy looks like and about me and my specialties.

  • I’m not currently taking on clients for relationship therapy. I primarily work with one of the individuals in the relationship, and I can collaborate with another therapist who you and your partner(s) are seeing for relationship therapy if/as desired.

  • The initial 55-minute clinical intake session and all 45-minute psychotherapy sessions after that will be held online via Zoom or phone. If you are engaging in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) sessions with me, you have the option to do those 2.5 hour sessions in-person in Oakland, CA, or online via Zoom.
