You’re here, you’re queer…I’m with you.

Have you tried therapy before but left feeling unseen or misunderstood? Maybe your therapist didn’t fully get your intersecting identities, your relationships, or the nuances of your lived experience. You might even feel hesitant to start therapy again because you’re tired of being in the “teacher role”—educating your therapist instead of being able to focus on your own healing.

You might be wanting a safe space to explore your identity and what it means to move through the world as someone who’s queer and/or trans. Maybe you’re navigating a polyamorous or ethically non-monogamous relationship and want support from someone who understands the dynamics without judgment. Or perhaps you’re part of the kink community and want a therapist who will meet you with openness, not stigma.

You may also be looking for a therapist who will follow your lead—someone who doesn’t assume you’re in therapy because you’re queer, poly, or kinky. You might be seeking help for anxiety, depression, trauma, or other challenges, and you want that support in a space where your full identity is respected and celebrated.

You’re looking for a change. You want therapy to feel different this time—safe, affirming, and truly about you.

YOU’RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE.

LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy

  • Reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, and trauma in a safe, affirming space

  • Build stronger, healthier relationships that are in alignment with your values

  • Understand and process the impact of systemic oppression—including heteronormativity, cisnormativity, racism, and other forms of discrimination

  • Increase self-worth and confidence so you can feel more grounded and empowered

My approach to working with LGBTQIA+ communities is client-centered and collaborative. We’ll work together to build an authentic therapeutic relationship based on trust, openness, and respect.

Common questions about LGBTQ affirming therapy.

  • LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy is more than just being “LGBTQ friendly.” It’s a therapeutic approach that actively affirms your identities, validates your lived experiences, and advocates for LGBTQIA+ communities.

As an affirming therapist who also identifies as queer, I embrace all aspects of who you are and hold space for the full complexity of your identities and social experiences. I do not view your gender identity or sexual orientation as something to be pathologized or “fixed.” Instead, I celebrate them as valid, valuable parts of who you are.

LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy also means taking a clear stand against homophobia, transphobia, and other harmful systems that impact queer and trans communities. I recognize the ways systemic oppression and societal bias can shape mental health, relationships, and daily life.

Importantly, I don’t assume that you’re coming to therapy because you’re LGBTQIA+. You may be here for support with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, or any other concern. I follow your lead, meet you where you are, and work with you on what matters most to you.

  • I primarily work with queer, BIPOC, and neurodivergent communities, as well as those who are allies. I work exclusively with clients who are 18 and older. Many of my clients are also part of communities that are often misunderstood or stigmatized, including people who are ethically non-monogamous, kinky, or sex workers.

Beyond identities, I work with people navigating a variety of life experiences, such as:

    • Queer or non-traditional relationships

    • Gender transitions or identity exploration

    • Significant life changes

    • Financial stress, money anxiety, or financial trauma

    • Psychedelic use and integration

    • Work-related stress or career transitions

    • Anxiety, depression, and trauma symptoms

My clients come to me for many different reasons, but my values remain the same: to provide a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore, heal, and grow.

  • Your first session will be a virtual 55-minute intake where we’ll get to know each other, talk about what brings you to therapy, and explore your history and current needs. This is also your time to ask questions and get a sense of how we might work together.

Ongoing therapy sessions are virtual 45-minute appointments. If you’re engaging in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) or Therapy Intensives, those sessions are longer—typically 2.5 hours or more—and may be offered in person in Oakland or online.

If you’re curious about what therapy might look like for you, I encourage you to schedule a free consultation call. We can talk through your questions, my specialties, and how we might work together in a way that feels supportive and right for you.

  • I’m not currently accepting clients for relationship therapy. My work primarily focuses on individual therapy, supporting one member of the relationship. If you and your partner(s) are working with another therapist for relationship therapy, I’m happy to collaborate with them as needed to help support your shared goals.

  • All standard therapy sessions—including the initial 55-minute intake and ongoing 45-minute appointments—are held virtually via Zoom.

If you’re engaging in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) or Therapy Intensives, you have the option to do these extended sessions (typically 2.5 hours or longer) in person at my Oakland, CA office or online via Zoom.
